I've been actively involved in the process of designing and developing web sites and web applications for over a decade now (typically using the Microsoft stack), and still enjoy every minute within this arena which is continually evolving at an incredible pace.
After graduating from the University of Manchester in Computer Science with Business and Management in 1999, I cut my teeth in the industry with an eBusiness agency that exposed me to full life cycle development for solutions that included an custom CMS for a financial institution and a B2B office stationary procurement platform.
Fast forward to today, I've aquired many different skills working on a huge variety of projects - everything from applications that reside within an NHS hospital network used by nurses and consultants right through to all of the front-end dev work for the company website of McCann Metro, the digital arm of McCann Erickson Manchester.
I truly enjoy what I do and simply don't see it a 9-to-5 that pays the bills (though that helps!) and get a real kick out of seeing an idea sketched on a whiteboard or piece of paper come alive within a web browser (that hopefully doesn't include IE6!).
